Grupo Prodac – Bekaert teaches values to children and adolescents in AAHH Sarita Colonia in Callao

- The “Yo ciudadano” program aims to teach civic values to around 100 children and young people in A.A.H.H. Sarita Colonia.
- Since 2008, Prodac – Bekaert has trained more than 500 children and adolescents through its summer vacation programs.
As part of its commitment to society, the business group Prodac – Bekaert developed a summer vacation program in 2014 known as “Yo ciudadano.” The objective was to educate around 100 children and adolescents in AA.HH. Sarita Colonia in Callao about civic values (self-esteem, dignity, liberty, responsibility) and promote community cohesion.
The program was supported by the Police Station of Sarita Colonia and Sarita Colonia School and received advisory services from the Asociación para una Feliz Infancia (AFI).
“Through workshops for dance, theater and art that focus on developing responsible citizens and value-based leadership, we give children and adolescents who live in a high-risk environments a safe place to enjoy themselves,” said Amparo Verástegui, assistant manager of Human Resources at Prodac – Bekaert.
Since 2008, the Prodac – Bekaert group has continuously worked with more 500 children and adolescents in the community of Sarita Colonia to improve the country’s level of education and culture.
