Prodac-Bekaert develops closer relations with the UNI

In the framework of on-going cooperation between the National University of Engineering (UNI) and Prodac, authorities from the School of Geological, Mining and Metallurgic Engineering visited the company’s installations in Callao.

The Dean of the School, Edwilde Yoplac, and the Head of the Graduate School, José Antonio Corimanya, the Head of Research at the School of Metallurgy, Julio Uza, and the Head of Social Services, Carmen Matos, met with the Head of the Mining Unit at Prodac, Fernando Muñoz and the assistant manager of the Mining Unit, Orlando Bello. At this meeting, they discussed issues and projects that could tentatively be of interest to both. The participants at the meeting expressed an interest in signing an agreement to develop joint activities in the future.

UNI’s representatives had the opportunity to take a guided visit through the Prodac plant were very impressed with the level of technology utilized in the productive processes. They were also surprised that Prodac produces a wide variety of products for different economic sectors in the country. At the end of the visit, the authorities at both institutions agreed to consolidate their relationship to continue contributing to the education of Peru’s future mining professionals.
